The Concept of 'Soul'

What is Soul?

There are many perceptive and many books that define soul in many ways. The way they explain it may differ and sometimes deviate from the real context. But ultimately they all lead to one point, that the soul dwells in all the things in this universe, both the living and the non living. It is the non-materialistic core around which everything in the world is wrapped up.

The sole meaning of 'Soul' is that everything in this world is related with everything else and share the common origin. It may sounds impractical to scientific minds but hey, do you remember 'Big Bang' Theory? According to 'big bang theory' our universe is created because of the explosion of the infinitesimally small point source and from then due to its continuous expansion.

So according to big bang theory all the different things in universe are originated from the same thing in that infinitesimally small point source. To simplify that we can call that source as 'Soul'. The soul that spread into each and every particle and non particle of the universe unifying all of it.

What are the characters of the Soul?

It is fine we unified the universe in the concept of Soul. But how to attribute characters to it. we should not confine it to some living things or some non living things or some parts of world or just to earth or any part of universe. It must depict entire universe. So here how it could be well understood:

  • It is form less, not matter, not radiation. It doesn't exist any perceivable form.
(Some people may debate me at this point. but let me make myself clear. Human eyes see light. but the light from sun is not just composed of what we see(Visible light). The other parts of it like uv spectrum, IR radiation etc we cannot perceive through our eyes. But still they exist. In the same way, soul is beyond our senses or any living creature can ever sense.)

  • It is undying and unchanging.
  • It is a void into which the universe fills itself in.

Reflecting the soul within us:

When we reflect the soul that dwells inside us we attain a state of peace. We get the strength to handle the anomalies of our life, the ups and downs.

But we all tend to deviate from our soul rather than reflecting it.
For example, an unicellular organism like 'Euglena' is reflecting its soul but the most intellectual life form on earth like us is struggling to learn it.
There are many debates about the process. but my personal belief is that we have to fallow our heart without cheating ourselves.
Do what you want to do, defeat or victory, accept it. don't fight with that inner voice in you.
Take risks, take chances, live life when you are alive.
You don't need to do meditations in Himalayan caves but you have to stay peace with your heart and take the path that your conscience tells you.
:)
